Vision is Everything.

Helen Keller once said, “The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.” At RH we concur, and believe vision is everything. It is the light that removes the darkness, the answer inside every problem, the ability to imagine a better way, a brighter day. Vision ignites the human spirit, generating hope and inspiration that can fill a person with passion, give a project a purpose, and turn a Company into a cause.

We also believe vision has to come from within. It doesn’t come from focus groups, surveys or outside consultants. It’s about searching, studying, listening and learning. Vision requires thinking until it hurts, so you can see what others can’t see, and do what others can’t do. Vision is about destroying today’s reality to create tomorrow’s future.

We believe you’ll find our second edition of RH Modern filled with vision and visionaries. People like Thomas Bina & Ed Robinson, Los Angeles, whose Channel Dining Table graces the cover of our Source Book. Rudi Nijssen and Dominique Sente, Belgium, who illuminate our homes with their Glass Globe Mobile Chandelier. John Birch, New York, the famous collector and designer, introduces his Metropolitan Sofa, a juxtaposition of clean lines and classic tufting. Jon Sarriugarte, Oakland, presents his ring of light, the Peralta Forged Iron Chandelier. Charlie Zagaroli, High Point, designs the delicate Cela Shagreen Collection in both fog and bone. Barlas Baylar, New York, introduces his Sand Walnut and Brass Collection, including pieces for the living and dining rooms. Timothy Oulton, London, who designed what we believe is the most comfortable seating collection in the world, The Cloud, brings us the new Como Modular Collection, shown in a beautiful leather. Vicente Wolf, New York, shares a reproduction of his Bali Bed, the original of which resides in the master bedroom of his Hamptons home. Jonathan Browning, San Francisco, continues to bring sparkle and elegance into our lives with four new collections: The Vendôme, The Arcachon, The Montesquieu and The Marignan Crystal Link Chandelier. We also bring back iconic pieces of the past by Robert Sonneman, Milo Baughman, Adrian Pearsall and Mariano Fortuny, which seem every bit as revolutionary today.

We hope you find the individuals, their stories and their designs throughout our new Source Book as inspiring and enlightening as we do. It takes courage to conceptualize a bold new vision, and bring it to life. We are deeply grateful for those who, by chasing their hopes and dreams, inspire us to chase ours, and by fighting fearlessly for what they believe in, encourage us to do the same.

Vision is everything.

Carpe Diem,
