4th C. BC Greek Bust

Based on a lost 4th century BC bronze by the Greek sculptor Naucydes, this bust depicts an athlete's intense concentration in the moments before he throws the discus. Our fragment is modeled on a reproduction of the statue that has graced the galleries of the Louvre for more than a century.
