Directoire Bed Without Footboard

An 18th-century counterpoint to the extravagance of Rococo, the Directoire period celebrated the balance and refinement of Classical Greek architecture and neoclassical forms. Our bedroom collection, a faithful reproduction of an antique, displays the slender, elegant proportions that define the period, with carved wood panel detailing, hand-turned posts and ball finial accents. We replicated the patina finish of the original antique, worn and distressed to showcase the beauty of the white oak. Upholstery in sand Belgian linen adds an elegant, updated finishing touch.
