Deconstructed English Roll Arm Ottoman
$895 - $1195 Special $785 - $1050
Inspired by the unadorned beauty of their grandfather's 19th-century wing chair – liberated from its velvet upholstery and the frame exposed – the Van Thiels replicated the Old World artistry in the English Roll Arm Ottoman. Character belies comfort. A distressed walnut frame, accented with nailheads, is complemented by the texture of burlap with linen or cotton. This is furniture for the ages.
- Circa 1870, an elegant rectangular form raised on bold, spindle-turned supports with brass casters
- Built by hand with a kiln-dried, corner-blocked solid walnut frame
- Clad in linen or cotton dyed to lend an antiqued appearance, with deeply tufted seat cushion
- Two layers of burlap cover the top and sides
- The walnut frame and legs are smoothly sanded and given a matte finish to look as they would before the final stain and polish; nicks, imperfections and natural variations in color are to be expected
- In sand Belgian Linen, Antiqued Linen or Antiqued Cotton; all are treated for stain-resistance
